A Brief Discussion On The Application of CNC Machine Tools in Metal Plate Processing

In the manufacturing process of non-standard equipment, a lot of non-standard metal plate parts are needed. The shape of metal plate components is not fixed. The traditional processing method is difficult and high energy consumption. The introduction of numerical control technology has been widely used in metal plate machine tools. It solves the problems such as high precision, complex shape and large batch in metal plate processing, and has the characteristics of strong adaptability, high machining precision, and productivity, and the process of metal plate processing is developing in a diversified direction.

At present, the metal plate can be defined as a comprehensive cold processing technology for the metal plate (usually below 6mm), including shearing, punching/cutting/composite, bending, welding, riveting, splicing, forming (such as car body). The notable feature is that the same part has the same thickness. Generally speaking, the basic equipment of mental plate include the shearing machine, CNC punch press / laser, plasma, water jet cutting machine, flame cutting machine, bending machine, as well as all kinds of auxiliary equipment such as opening machine, leveling machine, deburring machine, spot welder, bite machine and so on. Mental plat generally, is made by hand or mould stamping to produce plastic deformation, forming the desired shape and size, and further forming more complex parts by welding or a small amount of mechanical processing, such as the chimneys commonly used in the family, iron furnace and the shell of the car are all parts of the metal plate.

Usually, the three most important steps of the metal plate are shearing, punching, cutting and bending.

Through the use of numerical control equipment in recent years, the processing ability of non-standard metal plate parts can be enhanced. At present, a complete set of metal plate processing lines can be formed, such as the main numerical control water jet cutting machine, CNC shearer, CNC bending machine, CNC turret punch, spot welding machine, plasma cutting machine and so on. At present, much domestic cutting plate and bending numerical control systems such as Holland DELEM system are applied. The control system is relatively mature and stable.

The cutting process is the first process in metal plate processing, and the accuracy of cutting directly affects the quality of the subsequent process. CNC shearing machine is made up of the numerical control device, servo system, measuring device and machine tool. The servo system is made up of three servomotors and servo driving devices. There are two servo motors in front of the machine tool. Usually, one main motor works alone, such as the auxiliary motor working on the edge of the machine. The CNC system gives two different instructions to form the oblique edge. There is also a servo motor in the rear. The application of numerical control shearing machine makes the large batch of repeated cutting to save the line, line process, improve labor efficiency, and ensure the size of the cutting and the tolerance of the diagonal of the material.

CNC water jet cutting machine completes the complex shape process and open the components of metal plate. The machine operator determines the processing program compilation program according to the part drawing and process requirements. The operator writes programs directly into the memory of the program through the operation panel of the machine tool. With the growing maturity of microelectronics and computer technology, the development of CNC technology in China has been promoted. With the development of CAD/CAM, the operator can input the graphics into the computer through computer related software to generate the program, and copy it into the disk drive through the disk drive to enter the CNC system. It can also be input by computer and serial way of NC system. The application of the numerical control water jet cutting machine makes the originally complex shape structure processing simple, the machining of the porous parts is made in once positioning and cutting, and the cutting precision is up to 0.1mm.

Bending is a forming process in mental plate shaping. When the material is bent, the outer layer is stretched and the inner layer is compressed. When the tensile stress of the outer layer exceeds the strength limit of the material, it will produce cracks and break, and it is important to choose the parameters of the width of the mould, the radius of the bending corner, the value of pressure, the time of the pressure holding and so on. The bending machine can only estimate the parameters by virtue of the manual. The NC bending machine automatically adjusts the plate size according to the input parameters and calculates the required pressure, contact time and other related parameters by the numerical control system. All the parameters are displayed on the screen. CNC bending machine is made up of the numerical control device, servo system, hydraulic device and machine tool. The servo motor is composed of a servo motor and a servo drive device. The servo motor has a servo motor after the machine tool. The automatic positioning saves the manual line and the line. The bending angle of the conventional die is adjustable between 78 degrees -180 degrees. The minimum bending angle of the special mold can reach 30 degrees, and the machining precision is guaranteed. It is 0.5 degrees. At the same time, through the selection of new moulds, the processing of complex curved surface becomes a reality, such as processing some non-standard angle steel, channel steel, C type steel, cable bridge, custom distribution cabinet, etc., and it can also make different specifications according to the production needs. In addition, the numerical control bending is more obvious in the processing of large quantities of parts. All the bending procedures of a workpiece can be completed at one time. After the system is set, the positioning is automatically adjusted. The location block can automatically convert the size of the parts according to the program. It can greatly reduce the labour force needed to carry the components.

Their application in production has greatly improved the processing ability of metal plate and ensured the quality and output of metal plate parts.
