The Factors Affecting the Cutting Quality of Laser Cutting Machines

The laser cutting machine's nozzle can help emit gas quickly, which can effectively prevent the sundries and other debris from rebounding upwards, thereby protecting the focusing lens. At the same time it can control the gas diffusion area and size, which in turn will affect the cutting quality of the laser cutting machine. In addition, the nozzle size varies the thickness of the material being cut.

1.In cutting thin plates (below 3mm), Φ1mm aperture nozzle will be relatively fine, while Φ1.5mm aperture nozzle will be relatively thick, and the corner will be more likely to contain stains.

2. In cutting thick plate (above 3mm), the Φ1mm aperture nozzle is not stable when used. Because the cutting power is higher at the moment, the relative heat dissipation time is longer and the relative cutting time is also increased. With a Φ1 mm aperture nozzle, the gas diffusion area of the nozzle is small, so it is not stable, but basically can be used. The Φ1.5mm aperture nozzle has a large gas diffusion area while the gas flow rate is slow, so the cutting is relatively stable.

3. In cutting plates over 10mm, nozzles with a diameter of 2 mm or more are nowadays generally selected.

However, the larger the aperture of the nozzle is, the less protective the focusing mirror will become. Therefore, one should reasonably choose the aperture size of the laser cutting machine nozzle for more efficient production.
