The Fundamental Conditions and the Quality Requirements of Press Brake Machine to Bend the Steel Plate

In order to ensure the precision and quality of the bending steel plates, it is considered that the engineer not only should choose suitable and high-quality press brake machine but also should maintain a horizontal condition of the steel plates while bending them. The engineer must be in strict accordance with the part drawing or the diameter size which is provided by the lofting to line the edges and bend the steel plates. And he must select the appropriate models for the press brake machine according to their size of bending diameter.

If the press brake machine works for a batch of steel plates, it must try to bend one of these to test its bending quality. The qualified bending steels’ quality of the two sides edges should be mellow and smooth, and the edges’ width and size should meet the requirement of the requirements for steel pipes, etc. If the abnormal situation appears, the engineer need to adjust the press brake machine or the models or choose other ways to solve problems.

The engineer should reduce the errors of the bending steel plates to create a better condition for the whole quality of steel pipes as far as possible, including the circular degree of bending steels and the width of polygon steel pipes. If they can guarantee the Class A quality of the welding round steel pipes, they need to make the two sides of the plate edge be more smooth as far as possible. If not, they can bend them firstly.

There are some difficulties when the press brake machine bend the deformed steels. In order to unnecessary weakness, it is required that the steel plates must have the cold bending property of 180°, and they can only bend when the pressure head is smooth ; but for the steel plates which don’t have the cold bending property, they need to be heating, and they can only bend when the end edges are polished smoothly.

All in all, the surface of the bending product by the press brake machine should not have defects, the height shall not be bigger than 3.0mm; after single pipe is bending, the two end axial torsion ≤4; the substation architectures support steel pipe to bend the steel plates, the clearance shall be maintained no more than 2.0mm.
