The Differences between CNC Laser Cutting Machine and CNC Punching Machine

The CNC equipment is now the mainstream for the processing equipment with more accurate and simple intelligent work style, so more and more customers choose them. The most widely used in CNC equipments are CNC laser cutting machine and CNC punching machine. These two kinds of equipment are indispensable in metal processing. What are the differences between the two kinds of CNC equipment?

The CNC fiber laser cutting machine is used to melt and vaporize the stainless steel by using a laser beam to illuminate the surface of the steel plate. The laser source generally adopts carbon dioxide laser beam or fiber optic laser beam with work power 500 ~ 2500 watts. The power is lower than the power required for many household electric heating. However, through lenses and mirrors, the laser beam is concentrated in very small areas. The high concentration of energy is capable of rapid local heating and evaporation of stainless steel. In addition, because the energy is very concentrated, only a small amount of heat is transferred to other parts of the rolled steel. The laser can cut the blank of complex shape very accurately, and the cutted blanks are not necessary for further processing.

The CNC punching machine can be used for processing of all kinds of metal sheet parts. It can automatically complete various complex and shallow tensile forming processes at one time. Through simple die combination, a large amount of mould cost is saved compared with traditional stamping.

Comparison between CNC laser cutting machine and CNC punching machine

(1) CNC laser cutting machine can be used for thin plate and thick plate processing, while the CNC punching machine mainly focuses on sheet processing.
(2) CNC laser cutting machine can process all kinds of complicated graphics, which can be completed without the limitation of complexity. CNC punching machine can only process simpler graphics.
(3) CNC laser cutting machine is not necessary to open mold, and it is more cost-effective than the CNC punching machine.
(4) the automatic tracking system of CNC laser cutting machine can be processed on the surface, while CNC punching machine has high limitation.
(5) CNC laser cutting machine has high machining precision. It is suitable for mass production.
